Pure Stock Summertime Shootout, Independence Modified Clash up next at Highbanks

After a wildly successful Freedom Classic weekend and a mid-week break for Independence Day, action will resume in full force at Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturday, July 8th with NASCAR Whelen All-American Series points racing in all four weekly divisions. Saturday’s program will also include added money racing in two divisions: the Pure Stocks and Modifieds.

The Saturday, July 8th program was not on the original schedule, but with multiple rainouts in the first two months of the season speedway officials decided to pencil in racing this weekend as well as next Saturday, July 15th. This weekend’s racing card will include the Pure Stock Summertime Shootout presented by Bostick Electric, the finale of the Inaugural Independence Modified Clash presented by Bravado Wireless, and weekly points racing for the Super Stocks and B-Mods.

The Pure Stock Summertime Shootout portion of the event will pay $500 to win, $60 to start with a $250 “Lucky Non-Qualifier” Bonus, as well as the Pit Crew Challenge. The Hard Charger in the Pure Stocks will also receive a free set of tie rods from Out-Pace Racing Products. Pure Stocks will draw for starting positions and Feature events will line up based on passing points. Pure Stocks will still earn track points and state, regional, and national NASCAR points.

The curtain will also close on the Inaugural Independence Modified Clash presented by Bravado Wireless. Point fund money will be doled out to the Top 10 Modified and B-Mod drivers who compete in all three “Clash” events (Saturday, July 1st at Salina, Friday, July 7th at Thunderbird Speedway, and Saturday, July 8th at Salina). The winner’s share of the Modified point fund is $1,000 and the B-Mod winner gets $500. Saturday’s Modified Feature winner will also cash in on a $1,500 payday while the A-Feature pays $100 to start.
